FIRST Team 2228 CougarTech

Hello, and welcome to the website of FIRST Team 2228 CougarTech located in Honeoye Falls, NY. CougarTech is a veteran FRC team that prides itself on its coopertition with other teams and its teaching of younger teams. During the six weeks of build season, we build a robot that plays the game that FIRST designs each year. During the off season, we work on public outreach, recruitment and working on getting more sponsors to support our team and to support FIRST.

This year, CougarTech has reached new levels of maturity after six years of competing. Composed of students from both the Honeoye Falls-Lima and Rush Henrietta school districts, efficiency and organization are crucial as we strive to improve our team. This year our goals were to improve our off-season productivity, recruit and train new members, restructure the team for better project management, and to promote FIRST to a higher degree. Our 14 mentors have been essential to our success, as they specialize in everything from electrical engineering to marketing and business. Numerically, our team has maintained a 41 person count that is 27% female, a 17% jump from last year. The skills that the students learn on this FIRST team are some of the most important in our rapidly advancing technological society; our program is truly an ideal supplement to the standard curriculum of a typical high school.
